Department for legal support, local self-government support and property and legal affairs in Kosovo and Metohija

The Department for legal support, local self-government support and property and legal affairs in Kosovo and Metohija performs the tasks related to:

• Legal assistance in all areas of significance for the Serbian and other non-Albanian communities in Kosovo and Metohija;
• Legal protection for members of national communities and legal persons from the territory of Kosovo and Metohija;
• Monitoring the system of local self-government in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija;
• Analyzing and monitoring the election for organs of local self-government in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija;
• Analyzing and monitoring the direct declaration of the citizens in the territory of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija;
• Drafting the programs and projects promoting the capacities of local self-government services;
• Monitoring the harmonization of Provisional Institutions of Self-government regulations and practices with international standards within the scope of work of the Department;
• Preparation, maintenance, distribution and protection of the immovable property database in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as other tasks within the scope of work of the Department.

The Department for legal support, local self-government support and property and legal affairs in Kosovo and Metohija is comprised of the following internal units:

1. Group for judiciary, human rights and property and legal issues;
2. Group for normative tasks and legal support to the local self-government in Kosovo and Metohija.
