Today the Belgrade team and EU representatives made initial progress in Brussels towards the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities (CSM) in Kosovo, despite the fact that representatives of the authorities in Priština did not attend today's round of the dialogue, stated Marko Đurić, Head of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia.
Đurić told the press that he is grateful to the European Union for organising the meeting and added that the failure of Kosovo Albanians to show up is “an insult and depreciation of the host – EU”.
“I am truly pleased with the considerable progress made in the talks about CSM and the fact that matters related to the establishment of CSM have moved forward for the first time in a year and a half,” Đurić stated.
The press was also told that the Belgrade team and the EU representatives already discussed the topic of competences and elements for the functioning of CSM.
Đurić pointed out that today's talks were also attended by representatives of the PISG Government from among the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija, as well as representatives of the local self-government of Serbian municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija.
