Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia Marko Đurić said that the agreement on vehicle insurance, signed after the most recent round of the Brussels dialogue, will make the lives of the citizens considerably easier.
"Citizens will soon be able to cross the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija in both directions without paying any insurance fee," Đurić told reporters.
He recalled that the queues at the administrative line were sometimes several kilometers long and that family budgets of the citizens were suffering.
"Fees on the Albanian side exceeded 100 euros and the households tended to pay hundreds, even thousands of euros for vehicle insurance," said Đurić.
Director of the Office said that today's agreement, which will enter into force within 30 days, is a result of the three years of negotiations with the Priština delegation.
Speaking on other subjects of the latest round of the dialogue, Đurić said that, as agreed, he would not comment on what was said about the CSM.
"But when it comes to telecommunications, in my opinion Priština side is not interested in resolving this problem," said Đurić.
He said that instead of telecommunications, Priština side is interested in the status issue and added that a similar problem exists when it comes to energy.
"They are trying to resolve the issue of property through energy, but these talks are not on the issues of status and property," said Đurić.
According to him, during today’s dialogue the Prime Minister Vučić remained committed to the promise that he would not accept any solution that would humiliate Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.
"If any agreement on the CSM is to be reached in the future, believe me that it will be in the interest of the Serbian people too," said Đurić.
