Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, stated that Serbia has requested from the United Nations that a special international court or a tribunal be established to process the crimes committed by the terrorist Kosovo Liberation Army, given that it seems absolutely clear that there is no political will in the Province to process these crimes.
„I expect all states, and especially members of the UN Security Council, to support the establishment of the international court or a tribunal which would look into the KLA crimes,“ Đurić told the press at the extraordinary press conference held in the Government of Serbia, after the so-called Kosovo Assembly failed to deliver the decision on establishing the Special Court“.
Đurić added that he expected the UN to do their job and that the UN members unanimously endorse the establishment of such a court.
„The Serbian people had more salt rubbed into their wounds twice within 24 hours, when the release of Naser Orić was followed by the decision of the Provincial Assembly to reject the formation of the special court to be mandated with shedding light on the KLA crimes“, Đurić said.
Đurić recalled that no injustice can last forever, that statute of limitation is not applicable to war crimes and that Serbia will never stop insisting that those who committed war crimes be brought to justice.
