The Director of the Serbian Government Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, said today that he expects the next round of dialogue on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Priština at high political level will be held before the end of the month and that the Serbian side is doing everything to reach an agreement with Priština.
“I am expecting the new round of talks in July”, Đurić said to reporters in Brussels, where he led the Belgrade delegation in the dialogue at technical level.
He said the Community of Serbian Municipalities was mostly discussed today and also the implementation of the agreement on the judiciary where, as he said, “there are a lot of elements that have yet to start functioning”.
Đurić noticed that during today’s talks, the Priština delegation had a somewhat of a different stance from the provincial Prime Minister Isa Mustafa during the last round of talks with the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić, but he did not want to specify what the difference was.
“I can only say that it is pointless for the exert teams to go a step back or a step forward in relation to the views of the Prime Ministers”, he said, adding we should stick to the established framework.
Đurić pointed out that the Serbian side is doing everything and putting much effort to reach progress in the dialogue, as it is in the interest of both sides.
