Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Marko Djuric met with the new ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Serbia, Axel Dittman.

Director Đurić informed Ambassador Dittman about the situation and problems encountered by the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija briefed the German ambassador to Serbia about the course of the political dialogue in Brussels and about Serbia’s sincere commitment to the full implementation of the First Agreement made in Brussels, stressing that the continuation of the process of normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina and the constitution of the Community of Serbian Municipalities is of crucial importance for empowering the Serbian community in Kosovo and Metohija.

The interlocutors also discussed the case of Oliver Ivanović, and Director Đurić expressed expectations that Ivanović would be released after 26 August, and that this would be in accordance with both the law and the justice, and pointed to the inhumane treatment that the leader of the Citizens Initiatives SDP has had.
