The United States welcomed the four agreements signed between Serbia and Kosovo that will "improve the lives of people in both countries" and contribute to their path towards the EU.
"We congratulate the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo and their delegations on achieving important agreements with the mediation of the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini, whom we also thank," stated the State Department.
Agreements on the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities, energy, telecommunications and freedom of movement across the bridge in Kosovska Mitrovica will improve the lives of people in both countries, reads the statement.
"The United States commends both governments for their progress in fulfilling their obligations under the Brussels Agreement and other agreements reached during the dialogue, which brings the two countries closer to normalization of their relations and stride on their paths towards the EU," the State Department announced.
Washington, it follows, praised the commitment of both sides in the process and pledged to continue its strong support for the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština in Brussels.
