Press release of the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, on the occasion of the International Peace Day

September 21, 2015

The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, stated today on the occasion of the International Peace Day, that peace and stability must be of supreme interest to all citizens in our southern province.

Marko Đurić

“We, the citizens of a part of Europe that has often been shaken by wars, must understand the value of peace, but unfortunately, even today in Kosovo and Metohija there are those who seek new instabilities, since they create an atmosphere conducive to extracting easier political profit. Peace must be above everything and everyone’s selfish political interest”, Đurić said.

“Instead of militarization, both Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo and Metohija are in need of jobs and economic prosperity. Let us teach our children to learn and build, instead of to hate and destroy! Let the fate of tens of thousands of people moving across Europe away from war-devastated countries remind us once again that a thousand days of negotiations are better than a single day of war”, said the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
