Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija of the Government of Serbia Marko Đurić denied today that the Serbian List voted in the Kosovo assembly in favour of election of Hashim Thaci as the new President, rejecting these claims as the outrageous and shameless accusations of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and Dveri.
In his interview for TV Pink, Đurić said that the deputies of the Serbian List were in the room, because they did not want to be on the streets with the protesters of the Self-Determination, but they did not vote for Thaci.
He particularly criticized the coalition DSS-Dveri for their allegations that Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić facilitated the election of Thaci, adding that the allegations came from a party during whose time 1,300 Albanian terrorists convicted in Belgrade were released from prison, and who welcomed in Belgrade Javier Solana, the decision maker of the NATO bombing.
"This is shameless! Put on an expensively fur coat and issue a statement in Belgrade accusing people sitting in the most difficult conditions, with villains and criminals. This is literally outrageous!" Đurić said.
The Democratic Party of Serbia assessed on Saturday that Hashim Thaci had been elected president of Kosovo owing to the decision of the Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić.
The DSS President Sanda Rašković-Ivić said that the deputies of the Serbian List, who according to her are under full control of Prime Minister Vučić, allowed Thaci's election by providing the quorum for the work of the Kosovo Assembly.
Đurić said that the decision of the Serbian List to be in assembly was theirs, made independently, because the Serbian government would not dictate their actions.
He denied that, as was reported by the Pristina media, ahead of the election of Hashim Thaci for the president, he had met with him in a Pristina restaurant.
Speaking about the announced opposition gathering, Đurić said that it was about creating a new Democratic Oposition of Serbia (DOS), and that their rise to power woudl represent a "return to the past that wrapped Serbia in black".
"It is obvious that someone outside our country is interested in bring together the people who wrapped Serbia in black, in order to weaken Serbia's position," he said.
