The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić, met today with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Serbia, Li Man Chang.
Đurić thanked the Chinese ambassador for the support China gave Serbia during the attempt by the self-proclaimed Kosovo to infiltrate into international organizations, such as UNESCO and Interpol.
“We highly appreciate China’s principled support to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, and Serbia, for its part, persistently supports the “One China” policy”, Đurić said.
Ambassador Li Man Chang stressed that China and Serbia are bound by steel friendship, shared values and views of the world.
“China respects the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia, and for us, UN Security Council Resolution 1244 is the basis for resolving the issue of Kosovo and Metohija, and therefore we will not support the membership of the self-proclaimed Kosovo in international organizations”, the Chinese ambassador said.
Interlocutors agreed that relations between the Serbian and Chinese people are traditionally friendly and filled with mutual respect and appreciation.
The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija noted that political relations between Serbia and China are getting better, there are no open issues between them, and it is important to transfer the quality of these relations into the field of economy.
During talks they discussed the upcoming meeting, “Communist Party of China in dialogue with world political parties”, which is to be held next week in Beijing, and will be attended by the Serbian Progressive Party.
