Christmas in Kosovo and Metohija is being celebrated with an inexhaustible desire for freedom and in belief that the struggle for the survival of the Serbian people is blessed, the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djurić, told RTS.
“Convinced that this can be achieved and that it depends largely on ourselves, our president, the government, and our people will continue to fight for the survival in Kosovo and Metohija in the new year”, Djurić said.
Reacting to the news that a group of Kosovo Albanians blocked access to the Monastery of the Holy Mother of God in Djakovica, he said that the nuns behind those walls are freer that those who, “engulfed by hatred, wish to suppress a people”.
“The attempt to block one monastery is foolish and a question arises, what are the thousands of members of KFOR, EULEX and other missions doing when they cannot ensure that four nuns can breath and live freely”, Djurić said.
Asked about the request to amend the Law on Special Court for KLA War Crimes, that caused disagreements in the provincial assembly, Djurić said that Serbia is in favor of punishing war criminals, but since Serbia was not consulted during the establishment of this court, they shouldn’t turn to us now for help in resolving this conflict.
“As President Vučić noted precisely, the establishment of this Special Court and its work, as well as the present situation, are a matter of relations between Albanians and their partners and friends. They did not ask us when they established the court, when we might have been able to agree about it really being an international court, so don’t call us now when you are disagreeing”, Djurić said.
