The assassination of Oliver Ivanović is a criminal and terrorist act, which is aimed at destabilizing the situation in Kosovo and Metohija and it is an attack on the entire Serbian nation, said the Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Djurić.
“The goal is to provoke chaos and to push the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and entire Serbia into the hell of conflicts”, Djurić told reporters in Brussels where he was due to lead the Belgrade delegation in technical negotiations with Priština, today.
Asked about how will the murder of Oliver Ivanović affect the continuation of the dialogue and whether the Belgrade delegation will participate in the dialogue that was supposed to continue today, Djurić said:
“What can we talk about now? We are returning to Belgrade right away”.
Djurić pointed out that those who are responsible for the murder of Ivanović must be punished.
“Whoever stands behind this act, and we know that Serbia has been threatened in the past days, Kadri Veseli threatened with war, different Albanians and many others who have been attacking Serbian property during previous weeks, without any reaction from the international community… whoever stands behind this, Albanian, Serbian or any other criminals, must be punished and brought to justice”, Djurić said.
He stressed that this is an attempt at pushing the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija and Serbia into chaos.
“This is an attack on the entire Serbian people and a criminal, terrorist act that must be and will be punished”, Djurić said.
