Jovanović said to the reporters that he feels professionally and personally pleased because SMATS became a part of the action – initiated by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić – by donating the vehicle, whose aim is to provide help to the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija.

“Even though we primarily conduct the duties pertaining to the safety of the air traffic, as a socially responsible company we are always ready to help our people wherever they most need it”, Jovanović declared.

He added that the assistance of the Serbia and Montenegro Air Traffic Services for the Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija does not end with this action.

The Deputy Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Damjan Jović, attended the handover of the vehicle and expressed gratitude to SMATS for the donation, adding that they gave a good example of a socially responsible business by doing this.

Jović stated that this donation was initially intended for the Municipality of Zvečan, but that the management of the said municipality ascertained that the Social Welfare Center of the Municipality of Zubin Potok was in greater need for this vehicle, which is why they put it at the said Center’s disposal.

“I think that this is a good example of solidarity and unity among our municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija, among our people and institutions, and this certainly serves as proof that the idea of true unity of Serbian municipalities in Kosovo and Metohija is alive and stronger than evil will and obstructions aimed against the establishment of the Community of Serbian Municipalities, which has been lasting for 1.771 days”, Jović pointed out.

He said that the Office for Kosovo and Metohija is grateful for the large number of donations given to the people in Kosovo and Metohija, which are being distributed after the visit of the President Aleksandar Vučić to Laplje Selo throughout the southern Serbian province every day.

“This is proof and testimony showing that all parts of our land approached this issue with equal desire and in good faith with an aim to help, which demonstrates the power of unbreakable bonds between our southern province and all other parts of our country”, Jović declared.

The Director of the Social Welfare Center of Zubin Potok, Vanja Jakšić, thanked for the donation and the Municipality of Zvečan for putting the vehicle at their disposal, and to the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and its Director, Marko Djurić, who solved their problems in short notice, and to the President of Serbia as well.

“The off-road vehicle will mean a lot in terms of giving adequate assistance and when it comes to undertaking certain measures in the field of social protection. The Municipality of Zubin Potok is, territorially speaking, very large”, Jakšić stated and expressed her special gratitude to the Director of SMATS, Predrag Jovanović.
